Jixiao's Buns on the Seine

My iPhone kindly shared these photos with me today and pointed out that this was two years ago. It's so hard for me to believe that it's been a year and a half since we lived in France. At the same time, it almost seems like a dream. Did we really do that?

My husband and I decided it was time for us to move back to the States shortly before (or maybe after) our third child was born. For a few weeks, we had this sweet spot in schedules where my oldest son was at school full time, my daughter just started crèche (day care) a few days a week, and my husband had a flexible schedule that could allow for some free time with me on Thursdays. Oh it was wonderful. I would map out what we would do that day and we kind of got to be tourists in the city we called home.

On this dreary day, we went down to the Seine and got some comforting food at Jixiao's Buns. Afterward, we went across the river and had a coffee at Caféothèque, apparently the first third wave coffee shop in Paris. Our third wheel decided to take a nap while we were there, as two month olds do. Funny that I have another two month old right now.

We ended our date with a little walk by the Seine. Can you believe this was our neighborhood? Dreamy.

Bisous,

Katrina
