5 French-Inspired Movies to Cozy Up to This Weekend

Have you been feeling an itch to travel lately? While it may be some time before you can fly to Paris and then hop on a train to the south of France, thankfully, there are plenty of great French-themed movies that will take you there for a few hours. Add a charcuterie board, cozy up your home for fall, and voila!

This post contains affiliate links that I may earn a comission from, at no cost to you. I love all of these movies and wouldn't suggest them otherwise.

 1. French Kiss (1995)

Sweetheart of the 90s, Meg Ryan, and Kevin Kline are adorable in this 90s Rom-Com. Meg Ryan's character is reserved and never wants to fly anywhere, but finds herself boarding a plane for an unexpected visit to Paris.

2. Charade (1963)

Audrey Hepburn! Cary Grant! Suspense and action in Paris during the 60s! Need I say more??  This is one of my husband's favorite movies and the very first movie we watched together, so it's extra special in my book. Also, you can't beat the opening soundtrack.

3. Romantics Anonymous (2010)

This movie is adorably charming, funny, and downright delightful. Two emotionally awkward chocolate makers fall in love, and you also get a few off-the-beaten-path looks of Paris. The movie is French, so you'll have to read subtitles, but it's worth it. And if you already speak a little bit of French, this is a great movie to watch over and over to improve your skills. Bonus: this movie has great music & is free to watch on Amazon right now!

4. The Intouchables (2011)

Based on true events, this movie has moments of "lol"ing as well as tugging on your heart strings. A hired helper from the slums of Paris becomes the dearest friend to a wealthy paraplegic. You'll also have to read subtitles for this one, but I encourage you to give it a try.

I feel like it's too soon for me to watch this movie, because it is SO Paris! I watched two seconds of the trailer and almost started crying because it shows places that were in my neighborhood. I miss stepping outside and being in the middle of all of it. But if you're looking to get transported to Paris ASAP, I highly recommend this movie.

What are some of your favorite French-inspired movies? Let me know in the comments below, and if you watch any of these this weekend let me know what you think!  Have a cozy weekend.

Bisous,
